SATURDAY COUNTRY FOR 9-8-18 - COUNTRY RAIN SONGSby Tom Lineaweaver Since it's raining a lot in some parts of the Country (USA), and plenty more to come, I thought it would be appropriate to play Country songs about rain. Keep in mind, in Country music, rain is often a metaphor for crying, and there are plenty Country songs about crying. So, the word rain might not be in the title of the song, often it's in the lyrics. While you are listening to this music, you might consider calling or texting Noah.My absolute favorite song by the Oak Ridge Boys fits this topic perfectly.
What a beautiful song. Next is a video of Patty Loveless singing "Rain Drops Fall."
Here's Johnny Dollar...
Here's Loretta Lynn...
Here's Dickey Lee...
Here's Tammy Wynette...
Here's George Jones...
Here's Rhonda Vincent...
Here's Ronnie Milsap...
Here's Lisa McHugh...
Here's Ronnie Williams...
Here's Tanya Tucker...
Here are the Mavericks...
Here's Stella Parton...
Here's Eddie Rabbit...
Here's Virginia Lee...
Here's Waylon Jennings...
Here's Bobby Bare...
Hope you enjoyed this weeks Saturday Country. If you did, go out and buy them, and tell your local Country stations to play them. Hope you all can dodge the raindrops the next several week. God be with you.

Thanks Tom! I enjoyed all the songs, however two things... I did like the song by Ronnie Williams the most, and two, it ain't even close to rain where I am! I am in the Santa Barbara County in Ca. we are having real beautiful weather. Beach type. However, we have to worry about the fires! Its dry! So, you can send a little rain my way if you are getting any...where are you at? Stay safe no matter what!

Hi Tom...its me again that borrowedangel. I was just thinking how about adding Willie Nelsen "Blue eyes crying in the rain". "Rainy night in Georgia", I think by Conway Twitty. That will make twenty songs then! Have a good day and stay dry if its raining where you are! Or, ask Noah if he can squeeze in one more?

I am not a Willie Nelson fan. Rainy Night In Georgia was done originally by a black Blues singer. Conway could have done it, I don't know. Here it is... Not technically Country, but it is a nice song.

Ohhh, Okay Tom, I did not realize you had already had it on here by George Jones. I am not exactly a fan of Willie Nelsen either, but he has done a few good songs. (I think) Conway and Sam Moore did 'A rainy night in Georgia", together. I like it. Its also a blues type, with a twist of country, being Conway is singing part of it. Just trying to add my two cents in your thread... Thanks Tom!

Tom, I am so blessed that you opened the door for me to be here. I do have some knowledge in music. Its been apart of my whole life! I once wrote lyrics to songs when I was in my teens. Still have them too. However, I am in the middle of writing a book now, and this is not as easy for me. Anyway, Thank you for making me feel welcome here. God bless you!
