SATURDAY COUNTRY for 9-15-18 - THE APPEARANCE OF COUNTRY
by Tom Lineaweaver
by Tom Lineaweaver
One thing I miss about the Country artists when I was growing up, is that they were well groomed and well dressed. Today's New Country artists, the men look like they came out of a pig sty, and the girls flaunt themselves like hookers.
This is the way I like to see a Country artist look...
Webb Pierce not only looked good, he sang good too.
Loretta Lynn always looked like a princess on stage....
Of course she also sang well...
Porter Wagoner was always dressed well...
This has to be his best song...
Kitty Wells, the first woman to be a Country superstar, always dressed well...
She was great musically too...
Hawkshaw Hawkins was a well dressed man...
Musically, one of my favorites...
Patsy Cline always looked good...
Musically she always sang well...
George Morgan was also a well dressed man...
Good singer too...
Lynn Anderson was also a well dressed lady...
Good singer too...
Lefty Frizzell wasn't always in a suit and tie, but always had a good appearance...
I like the way he does this song...
Jean Shepard also had a good stage presents...
Here she is on Hee Haw doing my favorite song of her's...
Buck Owens also didn't wear a suit and tie, but was always well dressed...
This is my favorite by Buck...
Susan Raye, another lady, and she looked like a lady...
Also had a great voice...
On the Johnny Cash Show, he was always dressed well...
Of course, musically, most of you know what he was like. This is my favorite...
Connie Smith, another Country lady that always looks like a lady...
Great singer too...
Charley Pride, a Country gentleman that always looks like one...
One of the best Country singers too...

There is more to Country music than just the music. There is a demeanor that has been lost with today's New Country. So, I hope you enjoyed this presentation of well dressed good Country singers. If you did, go out and buy their music.
