What can be said about Ricky Skaggs except he's a master. He's a master on several instruments. He's just an all around master musician. He has successfully blended Bluegrass and Country better than anyone. He created a sound that has yet to be duplicated, and probably never will be.
My task is to pick 10 of his songs and say these are his best. But that's impossible. I have yet to hear a song by Ricky that couldn't be on someone's best list. Of course, I'm sure I haven't heard all his songs. It's even hard to just pick 10 of my favorites. I am starting with Highway 40 Blues because it showcases his instrumentational genius.
I hope you enjoy these few selections of Ricky Skaggs. And by the way, in my opinion, any radio station that claims to be Country and don't play Ricky Skaggs, they should go off the air.
